In the month of January and February 2017 RiverMarch volunteers contacted Principals of various schools in  Bandra, Malad, Borivali, Kandivali and Dahisar areas to create awareness about the River Utsav and River Walk to be held on March 4th and 5th 2017 along the 4 rivers of Mumbai. We requested the Principals to hold awareness activities among the children like drawing competitions, essay writing, skits, dance and street plays keeping the theme as river rejuvenation and cleanliness drive.  We also requested the schools to conduct a postcard campaign where the children have to write a postcard giving their wish list for Dahisar river to the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. This was very well appreciated and many school children posted the postcards to the Chief Minister. The Principals were also requested to arrange for their children to perform during River Utsav keeping the theme as river rejuvenation and river cleanliness
